Accounting Electives and Minors

Gain a competitive edge by studying accounting subjects as electives or accounting study areas (minors or extensions). In the BS05 course, minors will appear alongside majors on your transcript and will signal your depth of knowledge in a particular area.

There are currently five study areas (minors) available for Accountancy students to undertake including:

Students who complete the Professional Accounting Extension will be eligible for professional recognition with CPA Australia, ICAA, NIA and ASIC; Regulation and Tax Extension.

Some of the great electives being offered include AYB338 Accountancy Work Placement, AYB240 Superannuation Regulation and Practice, AYB320 Advanced Tax Law AYB227 International Accounting and many more.

RG146 Accreditation

Students who complete the Superannuation and Wealth Management Minor in conjunction with an Accountancy Major will meet the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) RG146 competency and skill requirements for Tier 1 financial advisers .
