QUTASA

We are the only QUT association specifically for accounting students. All accountancy students are encouraged to join and be a part of the social and professional development events we're planning for 2009.

The purpose of our club is to help provide a link between accountancy students and the accounting industry. We are here to offer any assistance that you may need during your time as accounting students. We have also scheduled consultation times during the teaching weeks of the semester. Our annual membership fee is $5. As members, you will receive a membership card which entitles you to numerous discounts from a variety of places. Our discounts for 2009 will be available shortly at discount list.

Throughout the year we organise a variety of events. Some of the events are professional, providing the opportunity to meet with accountants who are established in their field and representatives from our sponsors including CPA, CA, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Grant Thornton, BDO Kendalls, HLB Mann Judd and many more. QUTASA also host numerous social events giving students the chance to meet QUTASA members, School of Accountancy staff members and other Accountancy students.

Aims and Objectives:

• To involve students in accountancy based extracurricular activities, giving them the opportunity to enhance their future job prospects
• To involve students in a broader range of activities at QUT
• To promote social activities for accountancy students
• To develop students' personal skills, communication, initiative, management and professionalism
• To create a positive identity for accountancy students visible within and outside QUT
• To enhance students' career opportunities through the provision of relevant information
• To develop links with outside organisations beneficial to QUTASA and accountancy students in general
