Career Summary

Prior to her position at QUT, Sue was employed in a variety of accounting and internal auditing roles in public and chartered accountancy firms and for public companies in the building and retail industries. While at QUT, Sue has been extensively involved in the development and implementation of the School’s generic skills programme and in developing new lecture and case material in line with the recently introduced International Financial Reporting Standards framework. In 2005, Sue’s innovative teaching practices were awarded a Faculty of Business Teaching Award. Sue is an active researcher in both financial accounting and superannuation related issues and regularly presents papers at conferences.

In 2008 Sue attained her PhD from The University of Melbourne in the field of superannuation regulation.

  • Superannuation and legislative reform impacts on key performance indicators

Sue’s research reflects her teaching interests in the area of financial reporting, disclosure and accounting regulation as they relate to both corporate entities and superannuation funds. She is currently in the final submission phase of her doctoral thesis at the University of Melbourne with a focus on superannuation regulatory reforms and their impacts on key performance indicators such as the real rate of return to fund members.
