"I work in a niche taxation team which is responsible for undertaking Research and Development Tax Concession Claims for clients, which has a large impact on their corporate tax returns. Working with diverse clients across a wide range of industries is very rewarding and includes visiting the client, site tours, preparing written plans, lodging applications with AusIndustry, and collating information for their returns.
"I enjoy the responsibility of having to communicate with clients and facilitate work flow, and researching and targeting new industries. We have a great team environment which encourages learning and further qualification. And, I get to travel interstate for both client visits and training."
Timothy Hatcher combined his management major with international business and continued with research study in an additional year of Honours. The mix of theory and practical application from his degree helped secure him a position as a Tax Consultant with BDO Kendalls, one of the five largest international accounting and consultancy networks in the world.
